Orem is a city in Utah, in the north-central part of the state. It is adjacent to Provo, Lindon, and Vineyard and is about 45 miles south of Salt Lake City. Orem's original name. Orem was originally known as Provo Bench and was incorporated in 1919. However, the city was later named for Walter C. Orem, then president of the Salt Lake and Utah Electric Interurban Railroad.
